I handed a pair in for warranty because a) the fabric should not get holes after 60 days of usage and b) the reinforcements on the inner liner dont protect from some of the moving rivets which then just full-on destroy the inner liner. I asked for a repair, because the structure of the boot is still fine. I was fully denied everything, but offered to buy a new shoe at a discount. I find this ridiculous on many levels. The rivet and protection placement is clearly a design flaw and should be covered by warranty. The fabric could just be repaired. I don't think that should be a big deal. And finally the discounted price was still higher than what I can get in some shops. So all-in-all Atomics approach to repairing a still usable shoe was to create more plastic trash. I will now repair the shoe myself. It was just some fabric after all and I can also repair the inner liner. There are other manufacturers who guarantee the repairability of the boots even after the warranty. My right shoe fell apart after 3 years of use (probably about 50 days). Bottom part broke on the inside, and the pivot broke out of the upper (on the inside). Fortunately, the above did not lead to any accident, and after securing my shoe I managed to slide to a safe place. The above damage occurred as a result of normal use. Moreover, to check, I unscrewed the pivot in the left shoe. I found that the black plastic of the upper in which the carbon fiber is embedded under the white sliding pad around the pivot was worn down to the carbon fiber. The same is visible in the damaged right shoe. In addition, there is noticeable play up and down and front and back on the pivots of the shoes I believe that such damage is to fast. I would like to repair the shoes and use them again, but Atomic does not respond to my emails and the stores say it is not possible. I have been ski touring for almost 20 years. I've had shoes from different manufacturers and I've never had this type of damage. I read with concern the comments online and on the Atomica website regarding Backland Carbon shoes. Stiefel ist zwar bequem und leicht aber die Qualität ist ein Witz. Ca. 30 Touren. Gelenke musste schon getauscht werden. Innenschuh schon sehr verschliessen. Die Kunststoffabdeckung am Boa reist schon ein. Mehrere Freunde haben die Schuhe ebenfalls. Genau gleiches Bild.
