The 2025/2026 skimo season was another outstanding one, with the Backland team consistently reaching key peaks along the way. 22 World Cup podiums including 14 victories, 5 Olympic medals with one shining in Gold, 3 Long Distance World Championships and 4 European Championships medals.
This was truly the perfect season a skimo athlete can deliver. Rémi Bonnet won all Individual and Vertical races, thereby claiming both disciplines globes and his first overall title.
Thibault Anselmet grabbed the Sprint globe, so all men’s globes are in our house.
Thibault Anselmet can also call himself an Olympic Champion, with the title in the Mixed Relay and added a bronze medal in the Sprint.
The comeback story of the season was written by Ana Alonso. Rising broken from the Spanish tarmac, she stepped two times onto the 3rd spot of the Olympic podium.
New to the Backland team the youngster Jon Kistler stormed right away to an Olympic Silver in the Mixed Relay and to the 3rd place in the Sprint World Cup.
At home on the technical tracks of the high alpine races, the long-distance crew - Davide Magnini, Samuel Equy, Lisa Moreschini and Célia Perillat-Pessey - stepped 6 times onto the Grande Course podiums, including claiming 3 Long Distance World Championships medals.
And finally, Mathéo Jacquemoud set a new FKT on the World’s most famous long-distance ski tour, the Haute Route.
