As a real „rising star“, the 20 year-old Italian Davide Magnini has been known in skimountaineering over the past years. The winner of the overall World Cup in the Espoir-category in the season 2017/18 has now been adopted by the Atomic-family and can design his personal future with products from Altenmarkt.
Rarely is there an athlete in the skimo-circus who is such an all-rounder as Magnini. Even though he is currently still competing in the Espoir-category (U23), his benchmark have long been the general category. The 4th rank in the general overall World Cup demonstrates his potential even more than the outstanding victory in the overall World Cup of his age group. His signature onto the Atomic-contract is the beginning of a long-prepared collaboration, which will be able to foster and develop the potential even further.
Davide Magnini is glad to have taken this important step:
‘I’ve been connected to Amer Sports-Gruppe for a couple of years already. When Atomic showed interest into a cooperation, this was a great option for the winter season. After the first test, I was surprised about how good I felt with the skis. All further tours in a variety of different snow conditions were also positive, and I was sure about the cooperation. I’ve known the brand for years as a partner of my dad’s sport shop, where I frequently work with the products. Experience has shown that customers value the quality and the reliability. A strong brand with competent staff here in Italy and in Altenmarkt. For me, this provides the best basis for the following years to compete at a high level and to improve in all areas – in the sport itself but also in the collaborative work on the communication appearance.’
For Atomic it is Sports Marketing Manager Patrick Tritscher, who welcomes the young Italian in the Backland-team:
‘Davide was in all aspects an absolutely desired candidate. His talent is uncontested, and last winter, he showed in his first season on long distances in the World Cup but also in multi-day races and in the long traditional Grande Course events that he can run to the top already at the young age of 20. With his spirit, he can meet and pick up younger and older generations in skimountaineering; in his homeland Italy and internationally wherever the sport is winning fans. We are happy for the cooperation and look forward to pursuing our aims together.’
After the end of the race season the path is prepared for the next winter. The Atomic skimountaineering-family is able to go into a break for a few weeks, before the training routine can start again with great dedication. The team in Altenmarkt carries on in the development and optimization process enthusiastically, to be able to support the athletes with the best material.
