<span itemprop="description">I purchased this 174 cm ski based on the weight recommendations, and my weight falls at the low end of the scale. When I tried the skis on a surface of frozen granular mixed with powder, I noticed that the grip was dragging. When snowplowing down a steep hill, the mohair grip caught the snow intermittently, making it hard to balance. This was different than my experience on another pair of ski skis, where the grip did not catch at all when gliding or skiing downhill.
Using the old fashioned paper test, the center of each skis is off the ground when both are weighted, and is on the ground with one ski weighted, so the flex appears to be correct.
Comparing these skis to another skin ski, the grip is farther forward. This appears to be a design flaw with the shorter length ski (174). The grip should be farther back so that it is not weighted as much during a glide and does not catch when there is weight on both skis.
This would most likely be a bigger problem for someone at the upper end of the weight range for this ski.</span>
