When Worlds Collide: Freeski Meets Nordic
Say hello to the Bent 40 cross-country ski.
Say hello to the Bent 40 cross-country ski.
Every so often, you've got to get the family together. Earlier this year, we hosted a global gathering of the Atomic family – a diverse group of individuals, including employees and some of the world's top athletes from various skiing disciplines: Alpine, Skimo, Nordic, and Freeski.
Among these exceptional athletes were Chris Benchetler, freeskiing legend, and the Norwegian twins Lotta and Tiril Weng, along with Anne-Kjersti Kalva, all world cup cross-country skiers.
In a candid moment, Anne-Kjersti Kalva shared a secret: her favorite ski wasn't a cross-country ski but the Bent Chetler 120. Chris, too, had an unexpected twist in his skiing journey; he took up cross-country skiing when he broke his collarbone. As the evening went on, there was some joking about merging the two worlds together in a ski. Ski chat got deep, and a seed was planted.
It's moments like these, where our athletes live the #weareskiing spirit across disciplines, that truly define the magic of our sport. When they returned with the idea to launch the first Bent Chetler nordic ski, we couldn’t say no. It's amazing how passions can bridge seemingly distant worlds.
Stay tuned on @atomicski and @atomicnordic Instagram to find out how you can get your hands on a pair of these super limited edition skis, not available for purchase.
