TGR's Legend Has It

Teton Gravity Research’s 28th film explores some of the places around the Globe where legendary ski tales are rooted. From mythical storm cycles, heroic feats, to whispers of fantastical terrain, the TGR crew and their world-class athletes set out to explore the places of ski lore legends in this year’s film – Legend Has It.

What was your favorite part of filming Legend Has It?
One of the most captivating aspects of filming "Legend Has It" was experiencing first-hand the behind-the-scenes intricacies of a project of such magnitude. Witnessing the elaborate camera gear and techniques used to capture those shots was an absolute thrill. I'll never forget the first sight of an ATV they had equipped with snow tracks effortlessly maneuvering up and down the mountain. It had a camera suspended from a giant mechanical arm that mirrored our every move with absolute precision.

What moment in the film are you looking forward to seeing the most?

I'm really looking forward to watching the gnarly backcountry segments. As someone who's more into park skiing, I find the realm of backcountry skiing to be both incredibly intimidating and fascinating. I'm sure there are some incredible shots of the other athletes absolutely owning the natural terrain, and I can't wait to witness that.

Favorite Atomic product this season?
My favourite Atomic product this season has to be my Hawx Ultra ski boots. These boots provide me with so much comfort and control with every little moment I perform on the slopes.

What's your daily setup?
I ride the Bent 90 skis, Hawx Ultra 95 ski boot, and the Park pole.

Nick McNutt

What was your favorite part of filming Legend Has It?
My favorite part of filming Legend Has It was exploring new terrain back home in Jackson and skiing the powder from our biggest winter on record.

What moment in the film are you looking forward to seeing the most?
I am most looking forward to seeing Nick McNutt's segment while he filmed in BC all winter.

What was your favorite part of filming Legend Has It?
Getting to hang out with the lovely TGR film crew and the awesome athletes that are a part of it. Also going to Patagonia was an insanely beautiful experience. It was my first time there. We flew in on a tiny bush plane and landed on a tiny remote runway it was so wild. But at the end of the day, I think it's the people that make this experience so special.

What moment in the film are you looking forward to seeing the most?
We filmed me doing a cannonball into a hot tub with Nick and Tim, and it was hilarious! We did a few takes with multiple angles and fancy cameras, so I'm looking forward to seeing how our little skit turned out and how big of a splash I made.

Favorite Atomic product this season?
Bentchetler 120s

What's your daily setup?
Bentchetler 120 with a Shift binding.

What was your favorite part of filming Legend Has It?
This year I got to film with TGR at my home mountain Palisades Tahoe. We had a record-shattering season this year and the days we filmed for Legend Has It were so deep! It was so fun to bring the crew to my home resort and show it off in style! Palisades Tahoe is my favorite place to ski and this past winter was one I will remember forever!

What moment in the film are you looking forward to seeing the most?
I am really excited to release the teaser for my Protect Our Winters documentary called the Hypocrite in the pre-show for Legend Has It. It will be the first public viewing of the teaser!
