About Niels
Niels Hintermann was one of alpine skiing's most fearless speed specialists, earning three World Cup victories, including the legendary Alpine Combined in Wengen (2017) and downhill wins in Kvitfjell (2022, 2024). After being diagnosed with lymph node cancer in 2024, he fought his way back to World Cup racing with remarkable determination. In 2026, he retired from the sport, choosing health and life beyond skiing over the risks of elite downhill racing, leaving a legacy defined by courage, resilience, and passion.
