About Daaron
Daron Rahlves is the most accomplished American downhill racer of all time, retiring in 2006 with 12 World Cup victories, nine of them in downhill, the most ever by an American. He was crowned World Champion in the super-G at St. Anton in 2001 and added World Championship silver in the downhill and bronze in the giant slalom at Bormio in 2005. His signature triumph came in 2003 on the famed Hahnenkamm downhill at Kitzbuhel, the first American to win it since 1959, and he later took the Lauberhorn in Wengen in 2006. A four-time Olympian, "Daron" reinvented himself after alpine racing, winning ski cross gold at the 2008 Winter X Games before competing at the 2010 Vancouver Games. Even after retiring, he has stayed a vital force in the sport through big mountain film work and his own Banzai Tour.
