About Daniel
Daniel Albrecht celebrated his first successes early on. At the 2003 Junior World Championships in Serre Chevalier, he achieved a great feat: triple world champion! The sensation came at the 2007 World Championships in Åre: Daniel Albrecht became World Champion in the combined event, took silver in the giant slalom and the bronze medal with the team - he virtually filled an entire podium all by himself. At the latest after winning the giant slalom in Sölden and Alta Badia in 2008, Daniel Albrecht was on course for total success. Even the overall World Cup victory seemed possible. But then came the big shock: During the second final training on the Streif, the downhill of Kitzbühel, on January 22, 2009, Albrecht crashed heavily after the finish jump. However, the return to the World Cup proved difficult. In 2013, Daniel Albrecht announced his retirement.
