REDSTER EVOLUTION PUSHES MARCEL TO THE NEXT LEVEL
The World Cup leader (currently 281 points ahead) was only missing 15 hundredths of a second at the 102nd podium finish of his career after achieving the best time of the race in the finals. Marcel already laughed for the 12th time in a victory picture this season and owes his latest development step to the material. "We’ve changed a detail of the construction of the ski which adds a touch of smoothness to the punch", Christian Höflehner explains. "Either we’re very close to the next performance level, or we’ve already reached it." Manuel Feller achieved the third best time in the first run but was affected by bad luck: Gate straddle, disqualification. Atomic Race Manager comforts: "Manuel will not be slowed down by this. At the top, you can only interfere with merciless attack, good job he doesn’t use tactics."
ATOMIC-LADIES ON CRYSTAL COURSE IN ALL DISCIPLINES
Tina Weirather owed the second place in Zauchensee to her physiotherapist, who had been able to get her fit in time after a knee injury suffered on New Year's Day. There she also benefited from the findings of the Atomic test team, which runs its permanent test track a mere ten kilometers away on Fageralm. Nicol Delago (ITA / 21) caused a lot of happy faces with her 9th place and the best performance of her carrer so far. Snowboard world champion Ester Ledecka caught attention with a best time in training. Mikaela Shiffrin (overall lead, slalom lead, second in GS), Sofia Goggia (third Downhill) and Tina Weirather (second in the Super-G standings) are three Atomic Ladies on Crystall course.
The men's team now moves to Kitzbühel and Schladming in Austria, the ladies to Garmisch (one downhill, one Super G).
