ATOMIC VETERAN KIRCHGASSER: FINAL IN OFTERSCHWANG
In the Ladies World Cup Mikaela Shiffrin only needs 40 points more to secure her 2nd large crystal globe. The giant slalom Olympic winner decided not to participate in the World Cup competitions in Crans Montana favouring a few days training in Hinterreit to be really well-prepared for the last four technical races in Ofterschwang and Are instead. Whilst 10th place is enough for the 22 year old to defend her slalom title successfully, she still needs 81 points in the giant slalom to be able to catch up.
After 284 World Cup races, 17 podium places, 3 wins and 3 World Championship medals it’s time to say goodbye to a Redster legend, Michaela Kirchgasser (32), on Saturday in Allgäu, who is retiring from racing after her successful career.
