MIKAELA SHIFFRIN AND MARCEL HIRSCHER REMAIN BENCHMARKS IN SLALOM.

Sovereign victories in the fog of Levi, redster red jersey for the overall World Cup lead. The top stars if the Atomic team have entered the slalom season in their own performance.

The middle ear inflammation even required a check in the hospital. But then on the race day Marcel Hirscher could once again not be defeated. For the 40th time in his career, he stood at the top of the victory podium. 1’30” lead: And this on a slope like the one in Levi - where you can hardly make time anywhere, but can lose time with tiny mistakes – truly makes an enormous difference. Already the first slalom of the season shows how the five-time overall world champion is a remarkable exception: "He is on point when it comes to it. In the race, he fades out all the disturbances. He has a unique instinct for the balance between risk and safety in all relationships, "says Christian Höflehner, Atomic Racing Manager, who has known Marcel quite well for a very long time.

IN THE WAKE OF THE SUPERSTAR: THE STRONGEST TEAM IN THE WORLD
With Marcel Hirscher in the lead Atomic has the strongest slalom team in the world. That has become clear with Levi: Marco Schwarz (after 2nd place half-time, out in the second race), Manuel Feller (despite his lack of training from 16 to 5), Mattias Hargin (the entire skiing community celebrated his top performance earning him 6th place).

“A strong performance of the team, Mattias’ mental strength is especially admirable. Everyone is fabulous on the ski and we have also seen that we are one step ahead with our Redster Setup 2016/2017. ”

MIKAELA SHIFFRIN: BACK HOME IN THE RED JERSEY
With slalom victory number 20, she’s going home to the USA in the Redster red jersey of the overall lead after coming in second place at the world cup race in Sölden. The fact that she has trained less slalom, instead more GS plus fast speed corners, was hardly noticeable. More so the joy of her victory in Levi (as an acknowledgment she and Marcel Hirscher got a reindeer, whom she christened "Ben").
Continuing in two weeks in North America: Prelude of the men in Speed in Lake Louise (Canada) and the women's technique weekend in Killington (USA).
