POSITIVE RESULT AFTER HIRSCHER COMEBACK IN LEVI
For Marcel Hirscher, who decided to start his comeback in Levi at the last minute, this was an especially important indicator: “The positive surprise in the first run was as meaningful as the drop back from 4th to 17th place after the second one. I’m happy that I was able to start and now know how much I still need to do” he said after the race. His schedule: “the best possible compromise between physio and compensating for my lack of training”.
This time Matthias Hargin compensated for it by taking Marcel’s regular place on the podium in Levi with an excellent second run for third place and the best result for the Atomic slalom unit. Marco Schwarz started his Olympic winter in 13th place, and the Swiss racer Marc Rochat came in 19th. Atomic Race Manager Höflehner said “Not everything went according to plan in Levi but we did see that the ground-speed within our team is right. Manuel Feller and Marc Dygruber didn’t finish, but they also did really well”.
