EVEN MORE HAPPY ENDS: WILL 8 CRYSTAL GLOBES FOLLOW 7 MEDALS?
The golden era of Pyeongchang is reflected impressively in the Alpine brand medals table: 1st place with 5x Gold, 1x Silver and 1x Bronze (Katharina Gallhuber), additionally the Redster racers made up 50% of the ÖSV-team, who achieved Silver in the team competition (Gallhuber, Schwarz, Feller). “The results are even more exceptional, as we didn’t win where we thought we had the best chances, namely in both slaloms and the ladies’ combined. But Atomic wouldn’t be Atomic, if we didn’t, even with all the joy and happiness about the successful results, weren’t tinkering about with the equipment weeding out the weaknesses”, commented Christian Höflehner.
With the aim of reaping in even more success in the remaining three weeks of the World Cup. At the end up to eight out of twelve crystal globes could be held by the Redster athletes in Åre. Then this weekend the races in Kranjska Gora (Mens / GS + Slalom) and Crans Montana (Ladies / Super G + combined) are on the World Cup calendar. Mikaela Shiffrin and Marcel Hirscher also have the opportunity to successfully defend and wrap up their titles in the overall World Cup rankings.
