BEFORE THE TURN OF THE YEAR ON THE MAGIC MOUNTAIN AT THE SEMMERING, MIKAELA SHIFFRIN SUGGESTED WHAT EXPERTS HAVE FORESEEN FOR A LONG TIME: SHE HAS THE SERIES VICTORY GENES IN SLALOM (AT THE SEMMERING SHE WON FOR THE 14TH TIME IN A ROW), AND IN GS.

Shiffrin show: 3 days, 3 races, 3 victories, 300 points! Redster rocket Mikaela now has even more advantage in the World Cup after 12 races than her Atomic counterpart Marcel Hirscher. And his performance is already astronomical…

Atomic superstar Mikaela Shiffrin ignites her performance engine in time for the turn of the year before the big slalom classics in January. Her triple triumph at the magic mountain impresses twice: the era, in which Mikaela can also win in the GS as well as in the slalom on cue has finally come. "The second round in the second race was exactly the orientation experience she had missed! That she can win in all circumstances," said her Atomic Race Manager Christian Höflehner about the GS victories at the magic mountain. "No hanky-panky, only the consistent transfer of her training performance into the race," says Höflehner, who has seen his top athletes' series victory potential in the GS for the longest time already.

MIKAELA SHIFFRIN: YOUR GENERAL 6. SENSE IN THE SLALOM

In the slalom it almost seemed for one-and-a-half races that on this day for the first time, despite realistic chances, that the winner would not be called Mikaela Shiffrin after her double success in the GS. At the split time time in the final she was still clearly behind. In the final ranking after finishing, however, she was ahead of the competition by solid 64 hundredths seconds. Höflehner: "She has a brilliant sixth sense of how much risk she needs to take to win the race. This is unique because she often takes the victories on the very short sections, on which she really accelerates."

Mikaela celebrates New Year's Eve with 798 points from 12 races in the red jersey of the world cup leader and she even surpasses her male counterpart Marcel Hirscher, whose yield after the first full dozen World Cup races is 713 points.

MARCEL WITH A MIND-BLOWING PERFORMANCE JUMP IN SUPER G

At the Super G in Santa Caterina, there was no obligatory podium spot for the Redster Best Case (on average one podium per race) with strong team performance: Aleksander Aamodt Kilde 4, Max Franz 5, Mauro Caviezel 7, Adrian Smiseth Sejersted 9.

For Marcel Hirscher, it did not work out (without training) in the Super G - but then he made a crazy performance jump in the alpine combination and lay the foundation for a second place in the race before his team buddy Kilde.

Next stop: Zagreb with two night slaloms in the new year, two further one hundred points chances for the two Atomic superstars Mikaela Shiffrin and Marcel Hirscher.
