Last weekend, the finals of the ISMF individual World Cup took place in the Italian Alps. The final competitions of the disciplines Vertical Race, Individual Race, and Sprint concluded this season's World Cup in three days of competing.
Samuel Equy constantly on top
Samuel Equy (FRA) competed in all disciplines and like he had done all winter long was able to claim a spot on the podium of the Juniors' category. His outstanding performance in the enormously difficult Individual Race clearly assured him the victory. The first race day, moreover, brought a second rank in the Vertical Race.
’Especially the Individual Race was a challenge as it was an extraordinarily long and difficult course. In the second half of the race, I was able to pick up the pace; that it was what gave me additional motivation to give everything for the victory. The Blackland 65 - in the deep heavy tracked powder - saved me from losing the power needed for the ascents. All in all, the weekend was a great ending of the World Cup.’
In the overall ranking of the Juniors' World Cup, Equy is now on the second rank in Individual and Vertical Race, in the category Sprint he is on rank 8. Saying goodbye with such excellent results in the Juniors' category, he will be competing as Espoir in the Senior category next year.
