The Vasaloppet is the cult event at an iconic place of the nordic sport. This year it has also been the eight of ten stops on the Ski Classics Tour. The 90 kilometers in classic style set the stage for an impressive showing of Atomic-Youngster Anders Höst. The Redster-athlete ran over the finishing line in third place facing the famous Vasaloppet-banner: „In the track of our fathers – for future victories“.
3rd place at the Vasa Race, only 1.1 seconds short of victory after a thrilling finish: For Atomic-Youngster Anders Höst the third place finish at the most prestigious race of the season was also his best result of the entire winter. Like last year when he was able to claim the youth-rankings on the Ski Classics Tour after an enthralling duel with his Atomic-teammate Bill Impola, he sparked some new excitement in the final spurt of this year’s tour. With two races to go he’s trailing by only 37 points.
ANDERS HÖST: „OVER 90 KILOMETERS THE REDSTER CLASSIC PAYS OFF“
Anders Höst put his top-performance at the Vasaloppet also down to his latest equipment-setup and the new Redster Carbon Classic: „I’m very happy to make the podium at this iconic event. Over 90 kilometers the extra small sidecut and the new, ultrafast base pay off with every thrust. The result is an optimized gliding phase and a more energy-efficient running style.“ Atomic-Star Tord Asle Gjerdalen, who has been in impressive form this year on the tour, sitting in second place in the overall rankings, unfortunately didn’t have his best weekend this time finishing in 27th place. Atomic-sprint-ace Sondre Fossli ventured on the classic track and stunned all experts with a sensational 16th place, right ahead of Bill Impola in 17th place.
Another delightful message from the Atomic Nordic Team: Thanks to a strong running performance (one penalty round) Atomic-Biathlon athlete Dominik Windisch from Italy finished in fifth place at the Biathlon-World Championship in Oslo in the opening sprint-event.
