Already after the first part of the ISMF Skimountaineering World Championships in Tambre/Italy the Backland athletes can show the historically most successful outcome: the high alpine races brought four medals, of which two in Gold, and further fantastic rankings.

FOUR MEDALS, OF WHICH TWO IN GOLD, AND FURTHER FANTASTIC RANKINGS

The first part of the world championships took place around Alpago and Tambre. The individual and the team races were held in a terrain which was extremely challenging for men and material. Like the athletes confirm, the Backland UL 65 Ski is the perfect equipment also in this situation characterized by prevailing difficult conditions.

DAMIANO LENZI (ITA) - 2x GOLD

On the first day of the championships the strong Italian Damiano Lenzi was able to profit from his recently strong physical shape and finished as individual world champion with a start-finish victory.

Especially on the hard course the Backland UL65 ski offered the maximum support. After he had reached the finish line Lenzi awarded his ski with a victory kiss. The much hoped-for Gold medal in the individual discipline became reality.

After a recovery day Lenzi and team partner Matteo Eydallin achieved another great result. In a very difficult and technical team race they could reap the title of the world champion again. Damiano Lenzi to his second success.
