The team race with four different day’s stages involves 10.000 meters in altitude over a distance of 100 kilometers in the French Rhone-Alps and ranks among the most important events for competitive skimountaineers. All international Atomic Backland athletes landed in the top-10.
Mireia Miro (ESP)
The Spanish athlete Mireia Miro provided Atomic with a bronze medal. With a race time of 13:21:39 hours in sum, she was ranked 3rd together with her team partner. She was more than happy to be able to finish the race successfully: ‘It was a good race for us. The two leading teams were not reachable, the pursuers were much closer. We could control the distance well all the time, though, and I am happy about ending the race in such a good condition.’
Samuel Equy (FRA)
The young French athlete ran with his team colleague in the famous race to an overall rank 5. After continuous improvement over the four race days, the placement was higher than he had expected: ‘It’s something very special to be able to list myself so close to my idols. It’s nice to develop, and I have learned a lot over the past four days.’
