16 REDSTER EXPERTS IN THE FINAL; SOFIA GOGGIA IS FIGHTING FOR THE DOWNHILL CRYSTAL GLOBE
This seventh globe, which would give an absolute Redster majority in the competition for the crystal globes, could go to Sofia Goggia. The Olympic Gold downhill champion is entering the final showdown 23 points in the lead at the World Championship location for 2019. In total 17 Atomic athletes have qualified for the final in Are, 16 of them will be at the start: Mikaela Shiffrin (competing in GS and SL), Sofia Goggia, Stephanie Venier (AC, SG), Breezy Johnson (AC), Katharina Gallhuber (SL), Marcel Hirscher (SG, GS, SL), Manuel Feller (GS, SL), Max Franz, Mauro Caviezel, Andreas Sander (AC, SG), Thomas Tumler, Adrian Sejersted (SG), Filip Zubcic (GS), Marco Schwarz and Mattias Hargin (SL). Ester Ledecka will probably also compete in Sweden. As she has already won the overall and giant slalom snowboard World Cup, the super G Olympic champion will miss the final of the snowboard season in Winterberg to test the Alpine World Championship runs. Peter Fill, the winner in the Alpine combined, however will miss the final due to a suspected tear in his thigh muscle.
