VICTORIAS SECRET: WAIT PATIENTLY FOR THE BREAKTHROUGH

When she was (even) younger Victoria was the yardstick to be measured by in cross-country skiing. It didn’t matter whether it was the Olympic Youth Games, Junior or U23 World Championships; she was always there when there were medals to be won. 14 times in total, 7 of them where she finished with a Gold medal hanging round her neck. Then the girl from Thuringia managed to rupture her patellar tendon whilst playing hockey, which slowed down her entry into the general classifications after two seventh places in the World Cup. But her undisputed talent also made an appearance after her injury with a 2nd place at the DSV relay event in Ulricehamn. The future Redster star made the audience sit up and take notice with the fastest split time. Based on her training enthusiasm there should be a lot more to come for German cross-country skiing. Victoria also shows class outside the loipe, in summer she’s also committed to a social children’s centre in her home town, she ran 42.2 km in the Rennsteiglauf, a trail running competition in the Thuringia Forest, for charity as well.
