Olympic winner Simen Hegstad Krueger came in 8th place in freestyle and in the overall classification, he only missed his first place on the podium this season by two seconds. In the Ladies Hanna Falk drew people’s attention by winning the qualifying (seven tenths ahead), and a good performance in the quarter and semi-finals before she had to make do with sixth place in the final.
In Lillehammer the Nordic combined skiers contributed to the Redster track record with two podium places. Franz-Josef Rehrl skated his way onto the podium for the first time with third place in his 67th World Cup race, only 5.7 seconds off the winning pace. In the mass start Fabian Riessle also achieved 3rd place after the second fastest time, not bad for his third individual race on Atomic skis.
