Before the start of the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, Mikaela Shiffrin, the world’s best female skier at the moment has made a clear statement by extending the partnership with Atomic by a further two years until after the 2019/2020 season. With another win this race weekend in Lenzerheide the leading ski superstar can set up another new benchmark in the World Cup! Win n° 42 would mean that before her 23rd birthday she has won more races than the Atomic icon Annemarie Moser-Pröll back in her time.

”As successful as this Olympic winter is for us so far: this is definitely our best season win! The whole racing team, the whole company, the whole Atomic community, everyone is celebrating and is extremely happy.” Christian Höflehner’s elation, Global Race Manager at Atomic is certainly understandable. Right in the middle of the countdown for the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang Atomic has scored a real coup, the partnership with ski superstar Mikaela Shiffrin has been extended by another two years until 2020!
This means what belongs together is staying together: the best female ski racer in the world is staying with the most successful ski brand in the world; skis, boots, bindings, and helmets – success made in Altenmarkt!

SHE’S WON EVERYTHING AND SHE’S NOT EVEN 23 YEARS OLD
On 11th March 2011 Mikaela made her World Cup debut in the Czech resort of Spindleruv Mlyn, which was two days before her 16th birthday. And if, this coming race weekend in Lenzerheide, she wins the combined, giant slalom or slalom, and can celebrate her World Cup win n° 42, then she would achieve a new all-time record to prove her as an exceptional phenomenon in skiing history: even before her 23rd birthday she would have won more races than the Atomic icon Annemarie Moser-Pröll back in her time. This unofficial U23 statistic says a lot about the exceptional Mikaela Shiffrin, her career scorecard speaks for itself: Olympic winner, three times World Champion, World Cup winner, series winner and still working to improve her performance a little bit more. “Mikaela has the potential” says her Atomic Race Manager Christian Höflehner “to eventually extend her unparalleled dominance in the technical competitions to the speed disciplines as well and we will do everything possible to support her in her quest.”
