The Redster racers are ramping up their speed at the Ski World Championship in St. Moritz. After the two Downhill medals this past Sunday, Marcel Hirscher and Mauro Caviezel added silver and bronze medals in the Alpine Combination!

The Atomic team now holds six medals. This World Championship certainly is the best presentation spot for the Redster rocket of the next ski dimension - the new Atomic Redster G9, the first ski with power steering. Coming up soon.

In the Alpine Combined, less than the blink of an eye was missing for the first Redster World Championship title 2017. Marcel Hirscher was only a single hundredth of a second too late for his title defense. Rank 28 in Downhill, which he had achieved, using the bronze-skis of colleague Max Franz, meant for him the starting number 3 in the final. A great run, a mini-mistake in front of the finish line: "The bad luck with the hundredths will hopefully come back as good luck. Congratulations to Luca Ärni, he was just better today. I didn’t perfectly make the entrance to the last hairpin.” With regards to the special slalom, the competition didn’t lead to specific conclusions.

“We know you need skis for speed in flat parts. We have a few in storage.”

Race Manager Christian Höflehner

Only five hundredths behind Marcel and six behind Gold, Mauro Caviezel rejoiced after bronze in the Slalom after the third-best time. The 28-year-old Swiss had only raced six combinations during the World Championship. "A success that feels very good. It wasn’t always easy in the past", Mauro smiled. Höflehner: "A really hard injury series lies behind him, this past fall he almost lost a finger in a crash. We're all happy with him." Aleksander Aamodt Kilde achieved fourth place at the World Championship, which is also an indicator for the strong Redster performance.

ATOMIC G9: MORE AGILITY, MORE STABILITY

Marcel and Mauro with silver and bronze - the Flower Ceremony once again was the stage for the G9 summit. The Redster racers on the podium are already presenting the next ski dimension in St. Moritz - the new Atomic Redster G9, embodying the entire know-how of Marcel Hirscher. The groundbreaking innovation is the latest World Cup racing technology from Altenmarkt: Servotec, a technical highlight from Atomic’s development department. Thanks to Servotec, the Redster G9 is the first ski with power steering. It delivers an extraordinary combination of agility and stability as it makes steering more agile and faster to react and at the same time ensures that the ski is super stable at high speeds.
