He is a world-class biathlete, showcase athlete and a guy who enriches the Nordic scene. And now he’s back with the Atomic Redster Nordic Unit again: Austria’s biathlon star, Simon Eder, six times medal winner at big events, is, after 10 years, returning to his “home” team and relying on the know-how from Altenmarkt again. The performance tests convinced him, on Tuesday he signed his two year contract.

The 35 year old is well-known as a fast, competent shooter, but his skills on the track also earn the rating “world-class”. The tests straight after the end of the season showed that. Skis, boots, bindings: Eder also tested how it felt to be a “complete” Redster athlete. He coped excellently with the warm and cold temperatures, on old and new snow straight away. And the convincing performance times also convinced him too: it’s finally time to return to the Atomic Nordic Unit. “We’re thrilled that Simon is coming back to boost Atomic again. He’s a well-known, great, experienced athlete. Thanks to him the Atomic brand will get even more visibility and credibility both at home in Austria and on the international biathlon scene. As we’re practically neighbours our co-operation will be especially close to reach our common goals”, promises Yann Vallet, Business Unit Manager of Atomic Nordic.

STEP BY STEP: ”SAM“ TAKES LONG-TERM GOAL PEKING INTO HIS SIGHTS

The decision for Eders commitment wasn’t only the outstanding performance of the race material but also the extraordinary individual support and set up within the Redster Nordic team. And the short distance between Hochfilzen and Altenmarkt. “For me, coming from Salzburg, it’s really something special to return to Atomic again. I’m really looking forward to working together with the Nordic department, which has developed excellently over the last few years. Our big mutual goal is to compete for a medal in Peking once again”, Sam committed himself to his career plans - four more years!

Simon Eder is one of the most successful Austrian biathletes of all time. He made his debut in the world cup winter 2006/07, has achieved five wins (three individual), 25 podium places (14). Plus two individual World Championship bronze medals and four relay medals (Silver and Bronze at the Olympics and World Championship).
