A DAY OF CELEBRATION BEFORE THE HOLIDAY FOR MARCEL HIRSCHER? QUITE POSSIBLE.

The Atomic Ski Superstar is on the verge of gaining access to an exclusive hundreds club in Zagreb: the elite circuit of historically two gentlemen and four ladies who have brought it to a three-digit number of World Cup podium places during their career. What speaks for Redster Big 100 - Marcel finished all the slaloms and giant slides of this winter at position 1 or 2 and has been undefeated on the Sljeme for six years.

Ingemar Stenmark (155 top-three placements) and Marc Girardelli (100) are still ahead of Marcel, who left behind his former Redster team colleagues Hermann Maier (96, 93 of them on Atomic) and Benjamin Raich (92) this season. For his 41 victories, 39 second and 19 third places, the fifth overall World Cup winner needed 8 years and 295 days. Or, converted to the net running time: 3 hours and 21 minutes respectively 2:03 minutes per race. Even more imposing: Marcel stood on the podium at 52.4 percent of his world cup races, in giant slalom his percentage even climbs to 63.2 percent.

1 MAN, 12 COUNTRIES, 24 WORLD CUP PLACES, 99 WINNER PHOTOS

The images are always the same. Since March 9, 2008, Marcel Hirscher has appeared on 99 winning photos, 45 of which were shot after slaloms, 43 after giant shoots, 5 after combinations and 3 after City events and Super Gs. A total of 43 professional colleagues shone with him from the podium. Most frequently: Alexis Pinturault (25), Ted Ligety (22), Felix Neureuther (21) and Henrik Kristoffersen (19). Remarkable: The 27-year-old Salzburger was once on the podium with a Swiss (with his former Atomic colleague Daniel Albrecht 2008) and so far never with Aksel Lund Svindal but with nine Austrians, most often with Benni Raich and Mario Matt (6 times each). The combination of Hirscher and Atomic delivers top 3 results in every course, every composition of snow, top performance and topography in 12 countries and 24 World Cup places. The most successful destinations: Val d'Isère (12 podiums), Kranjska Gora (11), Adelboden (10). On Swiss snow, Marcel was the most reliable in the top three (19 times), more often than in Austria.

DREAM TEAM MARCEL & ATOMIC: PASSION, METICULOUSNESS, OVERTIME

If you do not work hard you will not see any results. All the superlatives are not a random product, but a result of passion, meticulousness and hard work. Lead by Marcel himself, his staff and his equipment supplier Atomic who provide 200 pairs of high performance skis and 40 pairs of ski boots per season for the Redster athlete. And, of course, the service crew around Thomas Graggaber and Johann Strobl, who invest 3200 working hours per year in the basic preparation and individual coordination of the material. Not yet included: the workload for boot guru Andreas Dudek, who works for three hours at the basic fitting for Marcel. Overtime is also the rule for Marcel: The world cup leader skis 18,000 training gates per season (without speed days), two thirds of them in the slalom. Together with conditioning and strength training, he’s in training mode for a full year for every three and a half years. The result? Is perhaps even a historical facet richer with with Zagreb - Marcel Hirscher, one of three ski racers in the World Cup history, who has achieved a three-figure number of podium places.
