Ahead of the “big players’” Nordic Ski World Championships in Oberstdorf starting next week, Atomic’s next gen Nordic athletes have delivered big time at the Junior/U23 World Champs in Vuokatti (Finland). Atomic young star Hugo Lapalus won gold in the 15k freestyle event on his Redster equipment – and there is a couple of new names on the Cross-country horizon to keep in mind for the future, too …

Anastasya Faleeva: The young Russian on the Atomic team crossed the finish line as Sprint World Champion. But then came the jury's surprising decision: disqualification, relegation to 6th place due to unsportsmanlike behavior in the final. Tough call, but even without an individual medal – she claimed silver in the relay – she now knows she is the world’s fastest her age. Like Anastasya, Redster junior Moa Hansson demonstrated that she’s a very promising Cross-country athlete, winning silver in the sprint, gold in the relay, and coming in 4th in the 5k freestyle competition. Norwegian Jonas Vika narrowly missed bronze in the World Championships’ 10k freestyle race, but claimed gold with the Norwegian relay – on Atomic. And finally, the two rising Redster stars Hanna Abrahamsson and Johan Herbert also took home bronze medals with their Swedish relay teams.

RELAY MEDAL FOR SAM, PODIUM FOR LONG DISTANCE RACER ERMIL
Simon Eder is not leaving the Biathlon World Championships in Pokljuka without a medal either – this time silver in the mixed relay. 19 years after his first gold medal at a major Biathlon event (Junior World Championships in Ridnaun), this is medal no. 11 for the “titan” in both track and shooting range.

More good news from Atomic’s Russian long distance racer Ermil Vokuev: in his 19th race on the Pro Tour at the “Visma Ski Classics” he finished 3rd in the 50k event in Jizerská Padesátka.
