The Redster stars came from a stunning World Cup to Åre as medal contenders, withstood the public’s expectations, and rocked the 45th FIS Skiing World Championships! With three Gold, three Silver, and three Bronze medals: the racing team from the most successful skiing brand in the world with its superstars and silent heroes in the background once again proved that it’s the benchmark in race intelligence, performance and commitment. And let’s hear it again for Mikaela Shiffrin, Sofia Goggia, Marcel Hirscher and Marco Schwarz!

BRONZE FOR MARCO: MENTAL METAL FOR TECHNICAL RACES.

His win in the only Combined on the Lauberhorn this winter made the Redster star Marco Schwarz the top favorite for the World Championship Combined in Åre. After the Downhill all the signs were still looking like he would fulfill his role. At the end of the first World Championship race Blacky was pleased he had won the Bronze medal. Mental Metal for the Atomic youngster even before the technical races: “It’s good to know that I’ve got a medal. And now I’m looking forward to the next races.” It’s

SUPER SIMON EVEN AT –23°C SPRINT LADIES SMILING IN LAHTI

His performance is as reliable as his sniper rifle! Simon Eder, the charismatic biathlete star in the Redster Nordic Unit once again proved that he can be relied on even in arctic temperatures in Canmore (Canada). He came sixth in the Individuals, which was shortened from 20 to 15 kilometers because of the extreme cold, and fifth with the Austrian relay team. And it was too cold for a big grin with temperatures well under minus 20 degrees in Canmore. But the Atomic Sprint Ladies Tiril Udnes Weng (6th) und Hanna Falk (7th) were smiling after their World Cup in Lahti. Whilst the Nordic Redster Combined with Franz-Josef Rehrl, Manuel Faisst, Fabian Riessle didn’t start in Lahti in preparation for the Nordic Ski World Championships in Seefeld.

Sofia Goggia: The Comeback of the Year

Understatement is not Sofia Goggia’s style. In fact, the 26-year-old from Bergamo, Italy likes to double up on her victories. Which is why, when she took home her first downhill world cup win at Jeongseon in 2017, she followed it up with a Super-G win the very next day. And she didn’t just win Olympic gold in 2018, she also beat out Lindsey Vonn for the world cup title. “You always have to raise the bar a little bit”, she says with a twinkle in her eye.

FRANZ-JOSEF, MANUEL, FABIAN – THE NORDIC REDSTERS COMBINED

It doesn’t matter which course or what conditions, wherever the World Cup stops, there’s always a constant factor in the Nordic Combined and that’s the strong performance of Redster combined with Franz-Josef Rehrl, Manuel Faisst and Fabian Riessle. The cool Atomic trio started with chances of a medal in Klingenthal (GER) and just like the rest of this winter season, they were in strong shape: Fabian sixth and third, Franz-Josef fifth and sixth, Manual ninth and seventh. And yes, one of the secrets behind their constant performance is a special form of trust.

TEAM ATOMIC: THE REDSTER POWERSCORE!

Today’s skiing superstars Mikaela Shiffrin and Marcel Hirscher have been with us under contract for years. Both are leading the Overall World Cup classifications sovereignly and both are travelling as the benchmark in skiing to the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Åre. However, they are not the only medal candidates; in the current World Championship season Redster athletes have won 26 out of 53 races in the World Cup. The rest of the skiing world, i.e. all other skiing brands together have won 28. These numbers just go to prove Atomic’s dominance, as the world market leader, in ski racing.

ROCK´N´REDSTER! 1.21 SECOND LEAD AT THE MARCEL SHOW IN SCHLADMING

“Just wait until everything goes according to plan again!” It’s rare for Marcel to make a threat, but just before Schladming that’s exactly what he did. The classic Slalom races in Wengen and Kitzbühel, where he had to work unusually hard to earn his third and second place aroused the ski maniac in Marcel again. In his last training run before the night race, on his home snow in Annaberg, the hero of all-time skiing changed his setup by a few millimeters. A change so minor that no normal skier would notice this difference. Marcel said, “For me it makes a world of difference”.

REDSTER PRECISION TEAM: TOP ATHLETES IN GOOD SHAPE

The last stops before the countdown to the World Championships for the Atomic Nordic Team bring the next top performances from the top athletes. After 3rd place in the Tour de Ski Atomic superstar Simen Hegstad Krueger came in 2nd place in the World Cup in Ulricehamm, over the 15 kilometer freestyle, beaten by only 1.1 seconds. In the relay race the Norwegian came 3rd, whilst Redster colleague Evgeniy Belov won with his Russia II team. It was also a successful weekend for Atomic biathlete Simon Eder at the World Cup in Antholz: 5th in the Sprint, 8th in the pursuit, 10th in the mass start, where his Redster team colleague Benjamin Weger came in 6th. For the Atomic combined skier Franz-Josef Rehrl (strong performances with 8th and 4th place in Trondheim), his performance before the home World Championships in Seefeld is showing the right direction, his team colleague Manuel Faisst came in 7th and 13th. The future stars in the Atomic team demonstrated at the Nordic Junior World Championships in Lahti that you should remember their names.

SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL! STEPHANIE’S 1ST WIN AND SOFIA’S DREAM COMEBACK

Great sporting events in Garmisch! Despite “hot competition” from the racing in Kitzbühel, this weekend it was the Atomic speed ladies who delivered the magic and emotional moments. 42 years after the Atomic skier of the century, Annemarie Moser-Pröll won the Downhill here, Stephanie Venier, the Redster race lady, broke the spell on the Austrians here in Garmisch and won again. With her very first win in the World Cup after a mega season. And just before the World Championships it was great to see Sofia Goggia back at the start after a complicated broken ankle. She came, took a look and came second twice - what a dream comeback! The wacky insider story behind it: whilst Sofia Goggia was out of action due to injury, an Atomic specialist team was busy putting her Redster speed skis into action, as if she had been racing herself. And the crazy thing: her equipment was at the races in North America without her … The

The majority were able to have a break, as the City Grand Prix in Dresden will only be fought for by the pure sprint specialists. Simen Hegstad Krueger, Third in the Tour, carried on his momentum from his top performance, and is looking forward to new tasks. MARCEL’S DONE IT AGAIN! A HERO’S JOURNEY…

Every weekend the World Championship season is increasing speed and dynamics. The classic races are the backdrop to fight for World Championship places, and also for the constant, regular showdowns of the best Slalom and Giant Slalom skiers in the world. The man who needs to be beaten has been the same for years: Marcel Hirscher. Are the competitors getting closer to beating him!? No! But it seems to be the case. Marcel Hirscher himself, is skiing his first runs, as if he could have done with another espresso, and is giving ski racing a fine storyboard in January. Until he gets together with his team of chief strategists in the break, and then changes the complete setup every time and shows, with his decision, who is the greatest skier ever. Marcel is making a hero’s journey out of his wins. In Adelboden he won his 66th and 67th World Cup races.

SUPER SIMEN TOOK HIS PLACE ON THE PODIUM ON THE LAST CLIMB!

Simen Hegstad Krueger isn’t only a talented cross-country skier, he’s also got a lot of talent for drama at big events in cross-country sport. Now with a grueling performance on the very last climb to Alpe Cermis in the Tour de Ski the Norwegian secured third place on the podium.
