The Atomic athletes could have an ace up their sleeves with the brand-new Redster G9 ski.
REDSTER G9: THE FIRST SKI WITH POWER STEERING
There have already been some sightings on snow and it’s quickly becoming the talk of the valley: Atomic’s next generation Redster race skis are ready to hit the slopes and race courses of the world.
And it’s not just the skis’ flaming red looks that are turning heads – they’re fully loaded with new technology too, set to dial up racing speed and control to an epic level. According to Gerhard Gappmaier, Atomic’s Product manager for race skis, it’s thanks to Atomic’s latest World Cup innovation, Servotec: “The name comes from ‘Servolenkung’ because that’s what it is: power steering for your skis. With Servotec, the ski is quicker to flex. So in turns it makes steering more agile and faster to react. Then skiing straight at high speeds it tightens up, making steering super stable when you need it.”
MARCEL HIRSCHER: THE BRAIN BEHIND NEXT GEN REDSTER
One skier that has extensively put the new Redster G9 to the test is none other than Marcel Hirscher. “If you want to reach your speed, you have to use great technology and when I tested the new Redster it was just amazing. The combination of agility and stability is one of the most important things for me as an alpine ski racer,” says the dominating World Cup skier over the past five years.
Alongside with other top athletes, Marcel Hirscher was deeply involved in the development of Atomic’s new Redster series. “This long relationship with Atomic and myself is something very special. It helped me become a five-time World Cup champion,” Marcel affirms.
“YOU CAN BE THE BEST SKI RACER IN THE WORLD, YOU’RE NEVER GOING TO WIN WITHOUT THE BEST PRODUCT.”
BORN ON THE RACE COURSE, BUILT FOR THE PISTE
Atomic’s Race Manager Christian Höflehner is convinced: “Marcel is certainly one of the most important guys in developing skis. We believe that racing is the base for building good skis, but then we use those technologies to bring the advantages to everybody.” That’s why new Servotec features on a number of skis of the new Redster series that will available from fall 2017. So not only World Cup athletes but also recreational skiers can experience this exceptional combination of agility and stability.
