Successful World Cup prelude. Mikaela Shiffrin and Marcel Hirscher, top stars in the Atomic Redster team, have entered this winter season second place in Sölden. Strong performance of the team on track and online.
As at the Media Day in Altenmarkt, the social media unit from Atomic also brought the fans in Sölden in direct contact with stars and staff behind the scenes. That is unique in the World Cup so far. Now the release of the next highlight: The new video shows the Redster stars in their element like you have never seen before!
Some of the top stars of Atomic's Redster team also played their usual main roles in the first giant slalom of the new winter in Sölden. Mikaela Shiffrin with great performance came in second, as well as Marcel Hirscher (podium No. 92, 179th World Cup race): old strength, new helmet design, tried and tested Redster setup for all cases...
MARCEL: "WE’RE ALREADY WORKING ON THE NEXT EVOLUTION"
"Progress for us is a permanent parallel process: we are already intensively working on the next stage of the evolution of the shoe. I wanted to give it a try in Sölden, but at short notice I chose the safe version with my tried and tested setup, “it won’t go away”, says Marcel. Now, as a preparation for Levi, there is a three-week slalom block. Not only Marcel Hirscher personally is "really happy" with his Sölden record. Global Racing Manager Christian Höflehner also knows the importance of good results in the first race: "Sölden is special: the snow, the terrain, the uncertainty of the first stocktaking. A good result is also a good sign that the direction is right."
ATOMIC LADIES START WITH STRONG TEAM PERFORMANCE
The direction is also right with the Atomic Ladies. Höflehner: "Second, fifth, seventh: really a strong performance of Mikaela Shiffrin, Sofia Goggia and Michaela Kirchgasser – we’re going to have a lot of fun this winter."
