Love grows with the longing: Berit was already excited about cross-country as a child. That it would even become the passion of her life, she realized in the most difficult phase of her life: A severe viral infection as a teenager caused two years of her not being in sports. "For someone who is so eager for movement as I am, it's really a hard time" she recalls. At that time she chose a career in professional sports, she now pursues. She inherited her strictness from her grandfather: "He is an avid sportsman. And if he has a foot injury, he rows. There is always a way - he gave me to take along."
