BREEZY IS TAKING THE DOWNHILL WORLD CUP BY STORM
”Breezy“ as a first name for an outdoor athlete? Too fitting to be true? The Redster speed hope was actually born as Breanna Johnson, but due to her high energy levels was soon renamed “Breezy”. When she was 18 her parents changed her first name officially. “Freezy” would also have been a possibility, as the 22 year old loves diving headfirst into any water, even if there are ice floes floating on it. “Stormy” would also describe her career to-date. In her 8th World Cup race Breezy scraped into the Top 10, last winter the student from Wyoming really felt the tailwind, even though she broke the head of her shinbone at the World Cup final in Aspen: 4th in Garmisch, 7th at the Olympics, 11th in the downhill World Cup. It’s quite feasible that she’ll soon sniff even higher air on a World Cup podium.
