The radius is even smaller and it can be used for proper short turns. Bei dem neuen Model ist mir aufgefallen, dass er wesentlich ruhiger liegt als der meinige. Mehr gib es dazu nicht zu sagen. Maybe 10% and that’s probably generous. The feeling almost as good as floating through great powder but the main difference is you can do it all day…powder is chewed up in a couple hours. Probably 30 to 40% of skiers are good enough to arc but either lack the right ski or simply don’t understand how much fun it is. Most online videos by top instructors on how to carve are using the Atomic S-9. I loved the ski so much I bought a pair for my advanced, not expert skier, wife and it completely changed not just her skill but she now has the same love of the sport I do. We get a lot of thaw-freeze cycles at my local ski area and the snow is rock hard for at least the first hour and this ski makes ice fun! It also surprisingly skis moguls well. Don’t make the mistake of buying these too long. I own 5 pairs of skis and they range from 178-184 cm. I bought the 165cm. That is the shortest ski I’ve ever owned. As I child I learned on a 175cm. Also, if you take them in to be tuned, most shops default to 1° base bevel and 2° edge bevel. These ski best at the factory tune of a .5° base bevel and a 3° edge bevel.
