HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS: SIMON IS A REDSTER-BIATHLETE AGAIN
He’s one of the most experienced and most successful biathletes on the scene. And now back to the future where everything began. Home is where the heart is: Simon “Sam” Eder is part of the Redster Nordic Unit team again. He’s come back to stay until the Olympic season 2021/22 at least. A transfer which was full of emotions, as the 35 year old was already part of the Atomic family in his early years of the World Cup. “Coming from Salzburg, naturally it’s something very special for me to come back to Altenmarkt. The Nordic Department has developed excellently. Our biggest dream is to fight for a medal in Peking; the guy from Saalfelden is looking forward to the easy communication and close cooperation. Simon is one the fastest and most confident shooters in the field. 25 World Cup podium places (14 in individual), two fifth places in the Overall World Cup are on his scorecard. At the Olympic Games he’s achieved two Silver and Bronze medals in the relay as well as two third places in the individuals at the World Championships. His sporting motto for 2018/19 “Run fast, shoot clean. Shoot fast run, run clean.” When he’s on the road he overcomes the distance to home to his wife Kathi and daughter Marlene via Skype.
