Overview

Silje Slind

Norway

A LADY WITH LOTS OF HUMOUR AND A FEELING FOR SPEED & SNOW

For the interview question “What story would you like to read about yourself in the newspaper?” she answered „Silje Øyre Slind, Olympic winner and World Champion, won one million Euros, spent everything straight away and has now climbed the K2.“ She’s certainly funny. And she’s an ambitious athlete successively on her way to the top. Her third place in the Norwegian Championship Sprint; her fifth place (also in the Sprint) at the World Cup final in Falun are important indicators. And that the material suits her as well. Silje’s not responsible for the fact that her great dream, to race together with her sisters Astrid (twin) and Kari in a relay, will only remain a dream. Siljes way of balancing out her marathon program in cross-country (51 races in winter 2017/18) is art by the way “with varying results,” as the 30 year old says tongue in cheek.
