Adriana Jelinkova

Adriana is the cosmopolitan in the Redster Alpine Unit: Born in Brünn, grew up in the Netherlands, emigrated to Bad Gastein, as she opted for skiing instead of tennis. Her mum supported her diligently but despite the combined Bronze at the Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck in 2012, the breakthrough took a while to come. Until her 25th World Cup race on 25th November 2017 in the giant slalom at Killington, where the lady from Saalfelden collected World Cup points for the first time with a 25th place. As the third Dutch lady in skiing history. “It never went wrong from the skiing or from my equipment, but it was usually the pressure I put on myself. I’ve freed myself from that, always told myself: “Just be like the little girl playing carefree in the snow.” Her Atomic team colleague Marcel Hirscher has shown her how far you can go with Dutch roots in skiing. Good when there’s a female counterpart too.
