THIS ISLAND NATIVE CAME A LONG WAY IN THE WORLD OF CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING. AND SHE IS HERE TO STAY.
Hockey, soccer, track and field, rock-climbing: she would have made it anywhere with her passion for sport. The decision to choose cross-country skiing only fell when Marthe and her parents moved from the Norwegian island Vannøya (880 people on 232 square kilometres) to Meråker by Trondheim. A good decision: “Stoffers” – her nickname made from her last name – came to the cross country elite and is here to stay, this season she became Norwegian champion twice, together with her team-mate Kathrine Harshem.
