HOW BENJAMIN THE HUNTER FOUND HIS TRACKS BACK TO SUCCESS
At the start of his career, according to Benjamin himself, a lot of things just landed in his lap, even the four World Cup podium places. Then the hard times followed with lots of worrying. And finally the recognition that hard work has to and will pay off in the end. The biathlete started to hone a lot of his skills. Even with mental training. And he included high-altitude camps into his training, even a few weeks before the Olympic Games in 2018. His efforts paid off, the ‘hunter’ from Valais can look back on his most successful season for six years. With the second best marksmanship in his career (84.8%, and standing up even better with 86%), six Top 10 places in the World Cup and two sixth places at the Olympic Games (pursuit and individual). In peace and quiet, just like it should be for a passionate fly-fisherman who has leased a mountain lake, Benjamin has started preparing for the coming season and focused his sights on his career, safe in the knowledge that he’s set his sights up correctly.
