About Carlo
Carlo Janka is one of two Swiss men to have achieved the "ski triple" of Olympic victory (2010 in giant slalom), world championship title (2009 in giant slalom) and overall World Cup victory (2010). Janka, who also has a small World Cup crystal globe in his possession for winning the 2009 combined event, celebrated a total of eleven World Cup victories in four different disciplines; 28 times the two-time World Cup medalist - in 2009 he also had bronze in downhill draped around his neck - made it onto the podium in the World Cup. On his way to winning the overall World Cup in the 2009/10 season, in the wake of which he was awarded the Skieur d'Or by the International Association of Ski Journalists (AIJS), Janka achieved something outstanding in Beaver Creek in early December 2009. He won the super combined, the downhill and the giant slalom on three consecutive days.
