Asa Ando

Japan's greatest ski talent is inspires fans and media with her radiant smile. But she's no joke on the slopes. Japan’s young ski tornado is dominating the Far East Cup at will and is sometimes winning by a huge lead. But, the Ski World Cup races in Europe, North America and Canada are the most important. At the World Cup opening in Sölden in 2017 she collected her first World Cup points in giant slalom. But then at the Olympics Asa ran out of luck: After 12.88 seconds the realistic dream of a great performance in Pyeongchang was shattered again: out of the race. But it didn’t burden her too much. Back home the Atomic lady with personality has been a star for a long time. And at the next Olympic Games in Peking in 2022 she’ll spur the nation on to new heights. Until then she’s got time to transfer her skills from the Far East Cup to the big lights of ladies ski racing.
