The Nordic Combined Triple in Chaux-Neuve (FRA), Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding (Germany), cross-country World Cup event in Otepää (Estonia): The Atomic Nordic Crew has been hard at work and successful everywhere. Redster highlight N° 1: Combined skier Franz-Josef Rehrl captured the audience’s hearts with his first two World Cup wins of his career in Chaux-Neuve and came in 3rd place in the final classification after his Atomic buddy Fabian Rießle. Atomic biathlete Simon Eder came home with 8th place in the Sprint and 9th place in the mass start in Ruhpolding. Redster classic star Evgeniy Belov is fit again after having the flu in the Tour de Ski and came in 6th place in the 15km Classic in Otepää. Do you know Ansgar Evensen - not yet? Well, he’s the future star at Atomic and recent Silver medal winner from the Nordic Junior World Championships.

Over the season to-date it had already become clear that “at some point they won’t be able to catch up with Franz-Josef after ski jumping”. That is how Peter Landl, Atomic Nordic Team Manager, announced it a week ago. And this is exactly what happened at the Nordic Combined Triple in the French resort of Chaux-Neuve. Just like so often recently, Franz-Josef Rehrl started the cross-country after being the best in the ski jumping, both in the 5 kilometer race as well as the 10 kilometer race, the guy from Ramsau couldn’t be caught this time: win #1 and win #2 in the World Cup; a milestone in his career, which he has worked a long time for. At the opening in Ruka, he was only 23rd; Franz-Josef has offered top performance this winter coming third in Lillehammer, with a second place at the World Cup on home territory in Ramsau, and recently a strong fourth place in Val di Fiemme.

BREAKTHROUGH WITH TWO WINS WITHIN 24 HOURS
At the Nordic Triple in Chaux-Neuve finally the breakthrough came with two wins within 24 hours and a third place, as well as 3rd place in the overall classification. He’s making ideal progress with his performance for the World Championship in Seefeld: “Over the coming weeks Franz-Josef will focus on even more on the timing and prepare himself well for the World Championships (from 21st February)”. Fabian Rießle also showed that he has also got his fitness and timing right for the World Championships with a third, a second and with a second in the overall classification. Team Manager Landl: “Now it’s about helping the lads to keep this level of fitness up.”

One reason for Franz-Josef flying high is not only ski jumping but also his cross-country: “I’m really happy with my Redster setup. And I can feel how much potential there still is within.” Fabian Rießle also feels “Really happy with the material, like never before in my career.”

SAM ALSO PROVED HIS CONSISTENCY IN RUHPOLDING
Similar news from the Biathlon team, even if he’s not performing at his maximum at the moment, Simon Eder, is demonstrating his great talent with constant performance. A week ago, with his place on the podium in the relay, in Ruhpolding this week eighth in the Sprint, ninth in the mass start so he can take things calmly at his own pace.

EVGENIY IS HEALTHY AGAIN: 6th IN OTEPÄÄ
After his illness during the Tour de Ski Evgeniy Belov is fighting fit and getting back into shape again. At the World Cup in Otepää he came in 6th over the 15 kilometer Classic. And also happy news from the first Nordic Junior World Championships competition in Lahti: in the 1.6 kilometer Sprint the Norwegian Atomic future hope Ansgar Evensen (born in 2000) won the Silver.
