FROM THE SCHOOL BENCH TO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BRONZE: THE STAR OF TOMORROW?

When she was 14 years old, she received an award for exceptional talent from a Swiss ski legend: Paul Accola, the man who pinched the Overall World Cup win from Alberto Tomba, gave Stephanie the award via his young talent foundation. Such an award inspires you for greater things: Two years later the talented sport high school student from Davos skied directly from the school bench to the Bronze medal at the Junior World Championships, in Switzerland she’s the best in the Juniors in combined and got Gold at the Swiss National Championships as well as 3rd in super G. This promptly promoted her from the C to the B-squad. In the future she wants to concentrate 100 percent on ski racing and has the goal of winning the World Cup. Paul Accola has rarely been wrong with his hopes for young talent. And in the Atomic race department the 20 year old is best off among the best in the world.
