PETER’S PRECISION LANDINGS: HE’S BEEN COLLECTING POINTS FOR 17 WINTER SEASONS

There are older World Cup cracks than the 35 year old Peter Fill. His former Atomic buddy Aksel Svindal is the only one who’s got more than Peter’s 341 races behind him. But in one classification the invincible quiet skier from Kastelruth holds the World record: No other person has collected World Cup points in 17 subsequent winter seasons. Ten years ago Peter’s career took off, immediately after he changed over to Atomic. In his first season he achieved his first World Cup win, followed by two World Championship titles and three small crystal globes from 2016 to 2018 (2x downhill, 1x combined). A steep curve of success, which brought Peter back to the love factor: “I finally learnt to glide. Perhaps, because as a dad, I feel more liberated and more in balance.” For the coming winter he's a little bit concerned about a persistent thigh injury, which is why he cancelled the summer speed camp trip abroad and trained at home for his 18th win instead.
