Fantastic Season. No weekend without a success report from the Atomic Nordic Team-

Fantastic Season. No weekend without a success report from the Atomic Nordic Team: At the Birkebeinerrennet in Norway Redster-pilot Tord Asle Gjerdalen locked the second place in the overall standings of the Ski Classics Tour 2016! For his teammate   Anders Høst it will be all or nothing in the last race of the season: At the Arefjällsloppet he has the chance to defend his junior champion title from last year. A strong showing also from the Redster-Biathlon-Unit at the World Cup finals in Khanty Mansiysk (Siberia): Relay-World Champion Fanny Horn Birkeland was a top performer in the pursuit race and matched the performances of her Atomic-teammates Benjamin Weger and Dominik Windisch.

It has only been the second season on the power draining Ski Classics Tour for Tord Asle Gjerdalen, the two-time Relay-World Champion from Norway. With a 5th place finish at the traditional Birkebeinerrennet, the penultimate race of the season, the Atomic-star with the pilot shades already locked his second place in the overall standings. For Atomic-youngster Anders Höst things remain exciting until the very end. After his third-place finish at the Vasaloppet he landed in 16th position at his home-classic event over 54 kilometers that saw a new participation record set with 14.750 athletes competing. Right before the final showdown at the Arefjällsloppet he is trailing by 41 points in the youth-class still with a chance to end the season as best junior of the tour like he did last year. The Atomic-twins in the World Cup Tiril and Lotta Udnes Weng finished among the best in the world at the Birkebeinerrennet, with positions 7 and 10 respectively. All Atomic athletes agree on one thing: the race-setup of the new Redster Carbon Classic is a key element of their strong performances with significant future potential.

REDSTER-BIATHLETES PERFORM STRONGLY IN THE PURSUIT IN SIBERIA

After a disappointing performance at the Biathlon World Championships in Oslo Atomic-Star Benjamin Weger gave the right answer with a perfect shooting and a 4th place finish at the World Cup pursuit race in Khanty Mansiysk (Russia). „That was a positive finish“, said Weger who is looking forward to some relaxation after a long and power draining season. „I particularly welcome the fact that my shooting is back on a top-level. That has just been my second shooting without a miss in my entire career.“ His Italian Atomic-teammate Dominik Windisch was also happy with a 16th place finish in the pursuit race. The same applies to the newly crowned Relay-World Champion Fanny Horn Birkeland, who underlined her good form with a 6th place finish in the Women’s pursuit race.
