100 HOURS TUNING OF MARCEL’S REDSTER AHEAD OF FIRST RACE
Marcel Hirscher won the Super-G with a brand new Redster model that went through baptism of fire. Atomic’s tuning experts, with Edi Unterberger leading the way, have spent around 100 working hours to find the perfect setup for the running surface and edges. Several rounds of waxing, honing and brushing meticulously took place for just a single pair of skis. Marcel Hirscher‘s Redster-range comprises around 100 pairs (40 Gi-ant Slalom, 40 Slalom, 20 Speed), that are called into action during the whole season.
Team Hirscher-Unterberger has made also the right call in the Giant Slalom resulting in the 15th World Cup victory for Marcel in the arguably most sophisticated discipline. With that win Hirscher surpassed the All-time GS-giants and Atomic Wall of Famers Hermann Maier and Benjamin Raich.
After claiming 200 points in the 2 races Marcel is taking a 2-day-break at home before strapping on his Slalom skis. 2 days of practice will get him ready for the two technical races in Val d’Isere where he wants to conquer the red jersey of the overall leader in the World Cup.
