The week after the Tour de Ski is traditionally a short break for the athletes to have a breather, especially for the cross-country team in the Atomic Nordic Unit. The majority were able to have a break, as the City Grand Prix in Dresden will only be fought for by the pure sprint specialists. Simen Hegstad Krueger, Third in the Tour, carried on his momentum from his top performance, and is looking forward to new tasks. Atomic star Evgeniy Belov has got his energy back again, after having the flu which threw him out of the Tour early. Whilst the Redster cross-country athletes are having a break, the biathletes and Nordic combined skiers brought in some success stories.

“Good relay results are a good possibility to re-align performance and self-confidence when it matters. Our Redster athlete Simon Eder did a really great job in the relay race in Oberhof,” said Atomic Nordic Manager Peter Landl. Even after a series of unfortunate circumstances, Sam managed to turn it around for the ÖSV relay team with a great performance and made a huge contribution to 3rd place, which made him really happy.

Peter Landl: “Everything that helps to create greater homogenous performance is desirable. “ He also sees the success of the Nordic Redster combined athletes on the World Cup weekend in Val di Fiemme in the same light: with his German colleagues Fabian Rießle skied into 3rd place in the relay competition. Atomic future star Franz Joseph Rehrl performed really well again and after being in the lead again after the individual ski jumping competition, came in 4th place. And it’s only a matter of time until he can’t be caught again.
