After the memorable Olympic winter the run-up for the next World Championship season has already started. Only four days after the World Cup final with seven crystal globes for Atomic the Redster success is unstoppable: before his heli-skiing trip to Canada the most successful ski racer in the world Marcel Hirscher extended his partnership with the most successful ski brand in the world until 2020. Thus both ski superstars, Hirscher as well as his female counterpart Mikaela Shiffrin, have renewed their contract with the world market leader from Altenmarkt.

”For us it feels like a Gold medal when both the most successful racers in skiing remain loyal to our brand and sport: with no real haggling or any tactical games. It seems like both sides knew what they have together and appreciate each other.” Global Race Manager Christian Höflehner is very happy, after this season ended so successfully: (5 times Olympic Gold, 28 World Cup wins, 7 crystal globes) and sees the foundations having been laid for another successful future together. “Naturally every season is a new one, but Mikaela’s and Marcel’s exceptional talent, combined with our passion and expertise in ski racing are excellent conditions for lots more great moments in the future.” Marcel Hirscher’s extended contract until 2020 could now also be the answer to the last few days of rumours and discussions as to whether he will continue in ski racing or not. Retirement looks a bit different to this. Höflehner: “Of course Marcel is free to choose differently at any time. However I see the fact that it was important for him to wrap it up before his heli-skiing trip to Canada as a strong indication for his desire to continue. And quite frankly anything else would come as a great surprise to us. With so much fun as he’s having now skiing, racing and competing with himself and others.”

BEST NEWS: THERE IS MORE TO COME
For exactly a decade now the 29 year old has been relying on Atomic equipment. The list of his success and records in ski racing is the protocol for the growth together and a partnership which is based on trust, focus, passion and experience. Before his 11th season with Atomic Marcel Hirscher already holds three Olympic medals, two Gold, four World Championship titles, three World Championship Silver medals, seven large and ten small crystal globes, 58 World Cup wins, 123 podium places and 12,421 World Cup points. And no-one doubts that there is still more to come!

With a slightly amended support team to enhance performance and backing. In the future co-service man Johann Strobl will move to support the Olympic winner Mikaela Shiffrin, whose current support Kim Erlandsson will then support the Redster hot ace Marco Schwarz. Christian Höflehner: “We will soon have an equivalent successor in the support team for Marcel and will continue to give him all the resources he needs for his level. Regardless of whether he wants to continue with his plans or focus more on the speed disciplines.”
