A MAN MADE OF GRANITE: IS DANIEL GOING TO START THE TURBINES?
Very fitting that he’s sponsored by a granite company. Daniel Danklmaier, next generation’s exceptional talent in the Redster racing team, also knows the less than glamorous side of ski racing. At the Junior World Championships in Roccaraso in 2012 he had the best intermediate times in downhill and super G and crashed both times in the lower section. You’ve got to digest that first. But a man made of granite can deal with that as well as two knee injuries. Last winter he won the combined ranking in the European Cup. And after a successful training summer camp in Chile he’s looking forward to this season. Daniel’s favourite place of strength? Outdoors, in nature. The guy from Ennstal comes from the ski division of the Naturfreunde Haus. And as the son of a female ski racer he also inherited not only the love of skiing but also the mountains. Where should the tour go? If possible, right to the top. From his skiing potential and the material; it’s only a question of time until he gets there.
