Final cut. 2000 pairs of cross-country skis, 2000 bindings, 500 pairs of boots – besides the regular summer production, the production for the nordic unit has been speeded up at the ATOMIC factory. The coat of the featherlight construction receives one of 15 surface patterns by a special machine using rough diamonds. The diamond finishing for a saison with biathlon world championships, tour de ski and the legendary wasa race as highlights for the nordic ATOMIC crew!
“Athletes using the overall ATOMIC package skis-binding-boots have an edge over others“, Roman Toferer, ATOMIC Racing Manager Nordic claims. “You can make best use of the advantages of the Featherlight construction of our World Cup Classic, World Cup Skate Soft Track and Hard Track skis in combination with ATOMIC bindings and ATOMIC boots.“ Roman Toferer, Racing Manager and ATOMIC Nordic Brain at the same time, is convinced, “Our athletes know that 70 percent of the performance in the cross-country ski run are determined by the construction of the skis, 20 % by the coat and its structure and 10 % by waxing and final preparation.“ Since some time ago, the Featherlights have received the final cut by a computer-operated high tech machine, the Wintersteiger Race NC, a product Made in Austria. This machine adds surface patterns to the coat by the use of rough diamonds. “Each and every single of our approximately 15 surface patterns works well at certain ski run conditions. Basically micro millimeters decide on a victory or a defeat“, Toferer explains.
