Marcel Hirscher: Premiere of his Icon Series

Slalom kick-off in Levi. Austria’s recently chosen Athletes of the Year, Atomic stars Marlies Schild and Marcel Hirscher, are about to start their World Cup season in Levi this weekend. Marcel Hirscher with a world premiere: The overall World Cup winner is the first athlete in the history of Alpine Skiing to ski with material that was developed and designed by himself - the Marcel Hirscher Icon Series. Marcel Hirscher is setting new standards. He took eight pairs of Redster SL with the exclusive Hirscher branding to Levi, skis and helmet of the Icon Series in Marcel’s design are also available in retail as limited edition.

His individual style has changed the ski world. So has his way of racing. And now he’s going even further – by using material he, and only he, uses. World premiere for Marcel Hirscher’s Icon Series: It’s not only his name that can be found on the material, but all of his creativity and know-how is inside of every detail of the limited, exclusive Redster SL Series, “The way the ski is constructed makes it a custom product meeting my way of racing, especially when it comes to torsion. I get a kick out of the design while racing. I’m just as excited as a little boy after finally succeeding in putting together the model car he had been dreaming of for a long time.“ A sense of style from head to toe: his Troop slalom shirt is painted in the design of the ski. While Marcel Hirscher uses the Icon Series exclusively in World Cup, his equipment is also available in retail as limited edition from now on.

A total of 30 pairs of skis of the Icon Series were tested in Sölden and at Reiteralm, and finally eight pairs qualified for Levi. Ski-tech Edi Unterberger, “Anything is possible in Levi, it might be frosty or even springlike. We’re prepared for anything with these eight pairs of skis.“

For Marcel Hirscher, Levi is a “first assessment“. Marlies Schild – together with Hirscher, she recently was chosen as Athlete of the Year – wants to continue where she stopped in March: as the ultimate number 1 in slalom.
